Abstract's

Welcome to my artistic journey through the realm of abstract street and cityscape photography, captured within the ever-evolving landscape of Newcastle Upon Tyne. This space is more than a simple gallery—it is a carefully curated collection of moments, fragments, and interpretations where each image moves beyond straightforward representation and into something more evocative and interpretive.

My work is rooted in the belief that photography is not merely about documenting what stands before us, but about transforming the familiar into something that invites deeper reflection. Through the interplay of light, shadow, geometry, and movement, I seek to reveal hidden narratives within the urban environment—stories that often go unnoticed in the rhythm of everyday life. Newcastle, with its rich textures, contrasts, and architectural character, provides an endless canvas for this exploration.

I have always felt a profound connection to photography. There is something uniquely powerful about its ability to capture a fleeting moment and render it timeless, to present a version of reality that can feel sharper, more intense, and sometimes even more truthful than the experience itself. It allows me to interpret the world not just as it is, but as it feels.

Abstraction plays a central role in this process. By stripping away literal context and focusing on form, colour, and composition, I aim to create images that encourage personal interpretation. Rather than dictating what the viewer should see, I want each photograph to act as an open dialogue—inviting you to bring your own emotions, memories, and perspectives into the frame. What emerges is not a single fixed meaning, but a shifting, subjective experience.

Ultimately, this work is about perception—how we see, how we feel, and how we connect with the spaces around us. It is about finding beauty in overlooked details, discovering rhythm in structure, and uncovering emotion within the urban landscape.

I invite you to join me in exploring this fascinating visual world, where each photograph extends beyond the visible and becomes something more—an atmosphere, a question, a moment suspended between reality and imagination.

Abstract street photography is where the familiar begins to dissolve. In the chaos of everyday life, I look for fragments—light, shadow, texture, and form—that detach from their original context and become something else entirely.

The street is still my stage, but the subject is no longer the obvious moment. Instead, it’s the unnoticed: reflections in glass, silhouettes broken by harsh light, patterns that appear and disappear in an instant.

These images are not about documenting reality, but about reinterpreting it—inviting the viewer to pause, question, and find their own meaning within the frame.
